Today I get to pick up my broiler (chicken) from a local farm, so we will be roasting it tomorrow night. I’m so excited! I also bought half a bushel of apples (North Georgia has lots of apples), so hopefully I can make some applesauce before we eat them all. So I guess it’s been a full day so far, considering I ALSO took all the kids to a local restaurant for a free lunch they were having. It’s time for me to take a break now, so here are a few things I enjoyed reading this week:
Grow Mushrooms This Winter at Mother Earth News — because I’m ALWAYS looking for more to do. But really, how awesome would it be to grow your own mushrooms?
Just How Important is Vitamin D? — Modern Forager is my new favorite blog, so I hope you enjoy this, too.
The Budget-wise Pantry at Geek, Poet, Housewife Wannabe gives a thorough outline of the basics in stocking a pantry (a good primer for those who need it).
I’ll post later about roasting the chicken. Hope you have a restful weekend!
